COVID-19 UPDATES

Reminder:

SSTA requires COVID-19 questions to be completed the day prior to each ride

SSTA will call you the day before your ride between 7:30am and 4:30pm (Calls for Saturday, Sunday & Monday rides will happen the Friday before)

If you know you have a ride for the next day, feel free to call our office between 7:30am – 4:30pm to go through the questionnaire instead of waiting for our call. This is extremely helpful to our staff!

Thank you,
SSTA management

COVID-19 Vaccine Rides

9/24/20

SSTA is currently providing transportation for eligible riders to all appointments, and normal services (grocery store, hair cuts, visiting family, ECT.) There is a capacity restraint of 50% per vehicle, so please keep in mind there will likely be other rides on board the vehicles.

All vehicles are cleaned at the end of every shift thoroughly with disinfectant, as well as wiped down by the driver in between each rider. Please feel free to call SSTA with any questions you may have!

3/25/2020

SSTA continues to operate services on a very limited basis. In light of the Governor’s latest guidance, public transportation providers are exempt from ceasing operations as transportation services are critical for the health and well-being of thousands of Vermont’s residents. While we are still operational, there are certainly going to be limitations to the types of rides SSTA will be able to provide. Currently, SSTA is willing and able to schedule rides for essential medical purposes as well as rides to procure essential supplies. Rides for social purposes or for non-essential appointments are not available as those types of outings are prohibited under the current “Stay Home, Stay Safe”.

All SSTA employees are committed to our mission now more than ever and are ready to help our customers as much as possible through this crisis. While we are able to safely provide transportation services to you, we will.

During this ongoing crisis SSTA has established and is diligently enacting a stringent vehicle and equipment cleaning protocol. This protocol includes daily cleaning and sanitizing of all surfaces inside our vehicles. Our drivers will be performing their daily rides on vehicles that have been fully cleaned and sanitized prior to use. Additionally, our organization will be limiting the use of our fleet to large, more spacious vehicles until further notice. This is an effort to provide the maximum amount of physical distance for our riders and drivers during operations.

SSTA always has been and will continue to be a community member first and foremost. Being good stewards to our community and those we share this wonderful place with is our primary underlying mission. If SSTA can help you or anyone in our community in any way, please call our offices and let us know. We will do everything we can do to help.

The current situation is one that is new to all of us and ever changing. If you have a question about your desired ride, please feel free to call our offices at (802) 878-1527.

Be well and stay positive!

Adam Lawrence
Executive Director- SSTA

SSTA Limiting External Access

In an effort to limit person to person interactions and protect SSTA employees, we ask that non-essential visits to SSTA be limited.

Punch pass orders will be processed via the phone. Any clients who need immediate passes are asked to call our office and let your customer service rep know, and we would be happy to work with you while the passes arrive via mail.

The decision to limit exposure was not made lightly and is consistent with the recommendations of the CDC.

Per the CDC, prohibiting visitors will assist to flatten the curve of community transmission and prevent the spread of COVID- 19.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

SSTA Response and Practices

As part of the US department of Transportation’s recommendations for public transportation agency’s preparations and precautions for the coronavirus (covid 19), SSTA has instituted the following practices to help keep our employees and customers safe:
• All SSTA vehicles will be cleaned and sanitized regularly each day, with a minimum of twice daily on all high-touch areas such as grab bars, rails, seats, and benches.
• Hand sanitizer with a minimum 50% alcohol content will be made available for driver and customer use in each vehicle.
• Tissues will be made available on each SSTA vehicle for driver and customer use and all passengers are encouraged to use tissues to cough into or sneeze into.
• It is recommended that passengers sit 6 feet apart when possible while on vehicles.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) maintains that the best way to avoid the spread of coronavirus (covid 19) is to wash your hands as often as possible and for a minimum of 20 seconds. When hand washing is not available, utilize hand sanitizer often. Additionally, if you are showing signs of illness, limit travel to medically necessary trips.

SSTA is aware of the critical role we play in the community and is committed to providing access to mobility for our passengers. Our organization is in regular contact with the VT State Department of Health and VTrans and will be prepared to play whatever role we can in assisting our community during this challenging time.

Respectfully,

Adam Lawrence, Executive Director
